Patrimoine …or heritage, as it was celebrated this weekend in France, we took a trip to the  Ecomusée in St Cyr la Rosière.

After the museum and its collection of objects, images and documents illustrating traditional Percheron life, we had a look around the exhibition “Bien loin de Brooklyn” by American photographer Peter Petronio (my real reason for wanting to visit yesterday!) … images tracing 30 years of his life here in the heart of the Perche.

Then a look around the priory and the grounds, and an extra treat (not only for the boys!) with a collection of old Peugeots, Panhards, Citroëns and the rest, nestled under the apple trees.

A beautiful late-summer’s day, a great place to visit, a pretty perfect Sunday!

La Patrimoine était en fête ce week-end et nous avons décidé de passer dimanche après-midi à l’Ecomusée du Perche, à St Cyr la Rosière.

Entre la musée avec ses objets et ses documents (écrits et audiovisuels), la prieuré et son logis, la magnifique exposition du photographe américan Peter Petronio, “Bien loin de Brooklyn,” retraçant plus de 30 ans de vie dans le Perche, et les voitures anciennes se reposant sous les pommiers, il y avait vraiment de quoi regarder (et de mitrailler, du coup !)
